Welcome to Blue Dog, a one off destination for a unique and carefully edited collection of homewares, accessories, clothing, design-led gifts and stationery.
Located in a lovely grade II listed building that was originally a grocery, we do retail the traditional way. However, traditional doesn’t mean old-fashioned and our constant search for the new, the well designed and the original means that, while we always have some long standing favourites in the store, exciting new stock arrives all the time.
You can find us on the High Street in the heart of historic Clare, Suffolk’s smallest town, which is well known for its excellent independent shops. If you are visiting us, be sure to check them all out.

Meet The Team
Sarah
Sarah founded Blue Dog in 2007 and is responsible for sourcing everything you see in the shop. And she does all the paperwork...
In her spare time Sarah loves visiting art galleries and hiking, often combining both loves in Cornwall where she spends as much time as Blue Dog will allow.
Nina
Nina was a regular customer in Blue Dog until we managed to persuade her to join us on the other side of the counter in 2012.
When she isn't working, Nina is kept very busy with her young family of two boys, Redford the Dachshund and Poppet the cat. We're not sure how she has time to fit us in!
Julia
A long time Blue Dog customer, Julia joined the team as a regular face behind the counter in 2022
Julia puts the rest of us to shame with a wide range of interests from her allotment in Clare, through music, theatre, antiques and sewing to some pretty impressive DIY skills (she is is going to be handy to have around!)
